Disney Descendants Birthday Party

MoodzDesign had the opportunity to organize and plan a Wicked Disney Descendants birthday party for a lucky 7 year old this past weekend!

Here's how we did it!

Using the free Mal's Spell Book template from www.GrowingUpBilingual.com, we used the book cover of the template and printed it out in postcard format on cardstock.  We printed out the party information on a separate piece of paper and glued it to the back of the printed template, added a little glitter and voila!

To greet all the guests, we created the Long Live Evil sign using cardstock and glitter, glued it to a purple plastic tablecloth from the dollar store and attached it to the front door.
Using old books, we painted them black, printed out titles and added details using gold metallic pens.
Using a few Halloween decorations and a dollar store finds, we created a wicked space that would make even Mal proud!
For an easy and inexpensive décor, we printed out Disney Descendants and Disney Villain images onto cardstock and taped them onto existing frames in the space.

For loot bags, we used simple purple paper bags, printed out labels and glued them to the bags.
We created five games for the party. A Nerf gun game using plastic plates and tissue paper, a Nerf bow and arrow game using helium filled balloons, classic bean bag toss, a water "gun" game using golf tees and ping pong balls and a ring toss game using bangles and painted bottles. Each guest was given an Auradon Prep report card, which we printed out on cardstock to tally their points at each game.  We awarded prizes at the end of each game to the winners.
We were forced to stay inside for the party due to weather, so we had to be creative with game locations!
Simple snacks were served, as the party was in the afternoon between meals. We took the idea of the bowl with apples from The Family Chic website (http://cfabbridesigns.com/holidays/halloween/decorating-for-halloween-first-in-a-series/#.Vf1anNyFOUk) and Evil Queen's Apple from a Halloween forum ( http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-crafts/125905-snow-whites-poison-apple.html#post1428782).
Spell Book Cake - The cake is novice to say the least, but was a success none the less with the birthday girl and her guests!

School is just around the corner, how better to celebrate the end of summer with an outdoor movie night!  Went to my local party store and picked up some decorations, to the dollar store for simple plastic table clothes, red plastic containers and red and white picnic accessories, and then headed to the supermarket for snacks, snacks and more snacks!

Told everyone to bring a pillow and their favourite blanket, and then I set up the projector and computer in our quint backyard!  Took out glow sticks later in the evening when it was getting darker for the kids to wear and have fun with.
